8/1/2010  Merlin and I are back home finally if only for a month or so. Dara's mom and dad are excited to be moving into a great assisted living facility called the Palm's. With the help of Dara and her aunts this will commence this week. I am expecting Robin, Riley and Jaz this week, and Jess and Matt on the 16th. I hope Dara will be back by then too. We hope to return to Vegas together.

We are blessed to have such good friends as Bob n Jo, and you can see, Merlin agrees.

 

7/4/2010  Happy 4th of July all. Today is the only 4th of July that I can remember not being at Sandy Pond since the 50's, except when I was serving my country. I will miss it this year; especially my uncle, his children, grand children, great grand children, and great great grand children. 

Also: Say "Hi" To Merlin's brother Dooley, who is celebrating this 4th very appropriately.

6/13/2010  For those who have not heard,  I have traveled cross country to help Dara who earlier this year flew to be with her Mom who had a serious stroke in Nevada. I drove to drop off Merlin with our friends Bob and Jo Lynn who live in Wisconsin. Merlin had formed a special attachment with them when in Florida and is coping better than we are with this temporary arrangement. He is getting more walks, playing with more dogs and children than ever. Bob and Jo are spoiling him with love and affection, plus quite a few Puperoni's thrown in. (Not to mention cookies, animal crackers, and fish oil at every supper.)

Dara's mom is making great strides in her recovery. We continue to hope for a fast and complete recovery.

It is a busy time for us and I probably will add no more to this website until I return.

Note: Uncle Don said waves last night were above the last section out on my dock above. Also note that even though the storm has subsided and dropped at least 10" from that in this picture, the water level is still way above that of yesterday when over 1/2 the wheel was showing. See picture of wheel below.

These pictures below are the most recent of Merlin with early sunsets. 

 

Also this recent dock picture shows how the Seaway Authority and Mother Nature have out done their past inability to do their jobs.

Normally at this time of year the water should be at the bottom of the steel on the dock.
